Merry Christmas from Cute Daisy May

Happy Monday!
This weeks's theme at Cute Daisy May is Christmas in Red!
Be sure to check out all the stamps that Linnie designs as there are some freebies on there right now too!
I didn't approach making this card any differently than I usually do but for some reason it just came out (in my eyes) so beautifully and I can't wait to show it to you!

I chose a few challenges to go with this card as well:
Charisma Cardz gave me the sketch
Dare U 2 Digi want to see Glitter
Crafty Catz wanted to see the word "Celebrate" on the card
Crafty Creations wanted Metal or a Metallic Finish

I used an image from Sheet 115 for this card.
I've been taking some Copic classes at a local store with the fabulous Frank Vento and for some reason today it all fell into place, the colors blended like I wanted them too, the shadows were in the right places and I just fell in love with the results! (I'm typing this up on Friday lunchtime so you can guess what I'll be playing at all weekend! LOL).
I loved all the glittery and metallic finishes together, so festive!
The glittered paper on the bottom layer is from the fabulous Peppermint Forest stack exclusive to Joanns. The metallic papers are from American Crafts in their Christmas Foil Speciality Paper pack from Hobby Lobby. I tried to find you a link but nowhere seems to sell it online. I embossed the red panel with the HSN Exclusive Cuttlebug Snowflake Holiday embossing folder. It was the first time for me embossing metallic paper but it won't be the last! LOL
The gold punched border is from the Deco Fan punch by Martha Stewart.
I printed the sentiment and matted it on the scalloped Nestie and then raised it on a pop dot. The ribbon is an old Christmas one from who knows how long ago!
Finally I added some Pearl 3D paint to his hat and cuffs.

Inside there is more of the wonderful dp and a message mat with another punched border and ribbon.

Here is a close up of the little helper Elf, wouldn't we all like one of these around at this time of year!

I hope I've started your Thanksgiving week off well and keep safe!

Pixie Cottage Showcase

Hi and Happy Weekend!
It's time for another showcase at The Pixie Cottage and the Design Team have come up with some super ideas for the new stamps.
Stamps are arriving almost daily at Michelle's Scrapbooking so be sure to go over and check to see if your favorite is there.
This time the team could decide to use whichever theme they liked for their project but as I'm in the Holiday Mood I kept with the Christmas theme.
There are a few challenges this fits as well:
The Crafty Pad had a recipe of 1 circle, 2 ribbons, 3 papers, 4 gems and some sparkle
Corrosive Challenges wanted to see some Embossing
Little Paper Shop wanted a Die Cut and I used Spellbinders to make my hang tag
Colour Create had the combo of Green, Red and White with the option of Christmas
Whimsy Stamps wanted "Anything But A Card" and the same challenge was at Crafty Angels
Challenge Up Your Life wanted a Festive Box/Package
Die Cut Dreams want to see Santa!
Stamp With Fun had a Christmas theme
Creatalicious wanted "Something for Christmas and some Sparkle!"
2 Red Bananas had a sketch that worked for the front of my tin.
Kaboodle Doodles wanted Buttons, Bows and Bling
Creative Inspirations wants some "Sparkle"

This time I chose The Jolly Old Elf by Alisa Ramirez and he was so much fun to work with!
I decided not to make a card but instead did an altered lunchbox that could be used for all sorts of things at this time of year. You could leave cookies in it for Santa on Christmas Eve, save cards, notes, receipts etc in it or fill it with treats to give as a gift.
I colored him with Copic's and then gave him the "Puffy Paint Treatment" all over his "fluffy bits".

I covered the handle with fabulous Christmas ribbons (wired ones work best) and tied one in a bow right in the middle of the handle.

Here you can see a close of Santa in all his fluffy fineness! LOL

I added an embossed image as a "hangtag" and I love how the white core of the cardstock shows through on the image. It is mounted on an Inverted Scallop circle Nestie and also has star buttons on it's "tail".

On the lid I added a floral pick from last year, it's got fake candy on it too to add a sweet touch! When creating projects remember there are many places you can find things that may work for you.

I hope you've enjoyed my little project and be sure to check out all the fabulous work of the designers at The Pixie Cottage today!

Celebrate Today - A Pink Christmas Card with a difference!

Happy Thursday!
Well you'll never believe it, this card is just for me! No Design Team commitment this time, just simply cardmaking for the pure pleasure of it!
I'll admit it was a struggle to make the image look "Christmasy" but sometimes we need to stretch ourselves so we remember it's not always "easy street"! LOL

Now just because I didn't make this for a team doesn't mean I did use some challenges!
Stamp Artic wanted a Pink Christmas Card
Magnolia-licious Highlites want a Magnolia card with Accessories only, no characters
Just Magnolia gave me the sketch
Fab's Big Christmas wants you to make a stamped background paper
Jacksonbelle Embellishments had a photo inspiration and I chose this dress with Pink and Snowflakes
Tuesday Morning Sketches had a recipe of 3 papers, 2 embellishments and 1 flourish. 2 Basic Grey papers and the stamped paper, the circle tags and snowflakes and the flourish are the flower strands in the image.
Kraftin Kimmie wanted
"Lotsa Circles" and I think the sketch has lots!

The challenge to use a Magnolia accessory stamp was hard for me as I don't have few many of them and certainly not many that would "stand alone" as a card image.
But I've always liked this watering can and I hope I managed to make it look "Christmasy" enough. I didn't ink up the part with the butterfly as that would be too "Spring" and I tried to color the leaves and flowers to look a little like Holly and Poinsettias. I used vellum snowflake stickers by The Paper Studio and used Tulip Puffy Paint in White to make the snow. I painted it on in tiny swirls and then used my Marvy Heat Gun to gentley puff it up. It takes a gentle hand so you don't burn the paint as Heat Gun's are hot!!!
The dp are from , wait for it, the Eskimo Kisses collection by Basic Grey!.
I used a Studio G $1 stamp to make the Holly panel and topped that with a border from the Valentines Lace border punch by Martha Stewart.
The acrylic letters are The Paper Studip and the snowflakes were white but I colored them with a Copic marker.
The "Celebrate today" sentiment is an Inspirable by EK Success.

The inside is more dp and a message mat with a coordinating snowflake.

Here you can see a close up, and I just love the Puffy Paint!
Anyway, I hope you've liked today's card, be back tomorrow for a Digital Delights freebie and on Saturday I've got a great new project for The Pixie Cottage.
Thanks for stopping by!

Super Sweet! Time for a new My Grafico sketch challenge!

Happy Wednesday!

The Design Team got to work with a fabulous set called Sweety Girls

Handfull Of Stamps wanted a Holiday Card
Tuesday Taggers had a color combo of Red, Green and Gold

The dp and sentiment are from a pack by Colorbok.
The Poinsettia flowers are from Hobby Lobby in the Christmas department.
The Dew Drops started life clear but I colored them with the R39 Copic to match the dp.

Inside is more dp and another Poinsettia.

Although the image was not designed to be a Christmas it shows that by chosing your colors you can turn things to be just the way you want it to be :)

Cute Daisy May - Texture

Happy Monday!
I hope you all had a great weekend.
Thanksgiving will soon be upon us and then Christmas, the weeks are whizzing by, so I'm using all my card making time to get my Christmas cards done.
Today's card for the Cute Daisy May Challenge is no exception.
The Design Team this time had to include different textures in their cards and this one has a lot.
There is the "spikeiness" of the leaves, the layers on the flowers, the ribbon and the metal and the "fluffy" poodle!
I used a few other challenges in this card too.
Midnight Madness gave me the sketch
Cupcake Crafts wanted you to use Digital Images
Everybody Art wanted Distressing
My Time To Craft had the theme of "Tags So Much"
Trimmies had the recipe of 1 ribbon, 1 tag and 1 sentiment
Sassy Susie wanted Christmas
Paper Maniac wanted something retro/vinatge with the option of adding Christmas. Well as this little cutie reminds me of "Lucy" I think that counts as retro, don't you?
Etsy Inspired had a great store to see this time. I chose these wash clothsfrom Allisa Jacobs store reminded me so much of my favorite Eskimo Kisses paper

The dp is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses, I really must make a Christmas card NOT using this collection soon! LOL
The image is from Sheet 60 which has 4 super cute images on it.
I colored her with Copic's and afterwards added White Pearl fabric paint to the dog to make it look like the curly fur on a Poodle.
The border/corner punch is Martha Stewart as well as the leaf punch. The flowers are Prima.

The inside has a small message mat matching the outside mat.

I hope you can see the fur on the Poodle better in this photo.

So more you need to get out all your favorites, add a little textur to a card and enter it at the Cute Daisy May Challenge

A new card for Pile It On!

Happy Sunday!
It's time for another challenge over at Pile It On and this week they want you to use 3 Flowers and 5 Pearls along with combining it with another challenge or challenges!

I've found a few to go with mine.

Magnolia Down Under gave me the sketch (and you need to use a Mgnolia stamp)
Roses on Paper wanted a Christmas card (and you need to use a brand of stamp they sell too, and they sell Maggies!)
Fabs Big Christmas wanted a Wavy Frame
Cute Card Thursday had a theme of "Glitter Me Silly" and although Flower Soft isn't glitter it still gives that shimmer and shine.
Basic Grey Challenges wanted Glitz and Bling (and any BG product)
Frosted Designs wanted you to "Bling It On"
Crafty Calendar had a Weather theme so I chose Snow!
Cupcake Crafts had a "Snow Much Fun" theme
365 Cards Day 259 had the theme of "Imagine This:Snow"
The Secret Crafter had a "Four Seasons" theme so I chose Winter
A Spoon Full Of Sugar wanted you to "Create a Scene"
TCP Tuesday wanted "Any December Holiday"
Design Dollies wanted to see some Distressing

The dp is more of the wonderful Eskimo Kisses by Basic Grey.
I colored the super cute Rowdy Tilda with Copic's and although she seems to be out of stock everywhere I looked for you I'm sure she'll be back in stock soon.
I made the snow from Flower Soft in Polar White. It gives a different look from glitter and in real life it looks like real snow!
The flowers are Brides and the pearl brads are from the wedding collection from Martha Stewart. The sentiment is from Joanns $1 spot. The border punch is Martha Stewart called Triple Dot Scallop. I stamped Tilda on a Label Nestie and stamped another Tilda and popped her on top.

The inside is more dp and a message mat cut with the same Nestie as on the front.

Here you can see the popped up Tilda.

I'd love to see you over at Pile It On!

As part of my Guest Design Team commitments I had to actually "send" (yes as in leave my hands!) two of my cards to La La Land for the general public to see!
I don't think it will matter that you get a little sneak before hand ;)
I didn't do mega challenges on each but I did pick a sketch for each.

For this one I used Winter Wonderland for the sketch

For this card I used Cutie Sunday for the sketch

I hope you like them and I hope the people at the show do too!
